Use Natural Flea Repellants

Use Natural Flea Repellants

Instead of using chemicals or pills, there are natural ways to get rid of a flea problem. Try one or a combination of the following methods:

1. Apple Cider Vinegar
Wipe your pet's coat with apple cider vinegar or spray a mix of 50% apple cider vinegar and 50% water directly on your pet. If you are facing a flea infestation, do this twice daily. You may choose to also do this once a week as a preventative measure.

2. Garlic and Nutritional Yeast
You can also fight fleas by adjusting your pet's diet. If you can feed your pet a bit of garlic of nutritional yeast, that will keep the fleas away. Corn, on the other hand, tends to attract them, so avoid feeding your pet anything containing corn.

3. Lemons
One last solution that works for fleas and even mange is this: Thinly slice a whole lemon, including the peel. Bring one pint of water to a near boil, add the lemon slices and let it steep overnight. The next morning, the cool solution can be sponged onto the animal’s coat. You can also use a crock pot to steep the lemons overnight.
